A red cedar IgE blood test measures antibodies the immune system may produce against red cedar pollen. Red cedar is a wind-pollinated evergreen that releases fine, light pollen capable of triggering seasonal allergic rhinitis in sensitized people. The test is a screening tool, not a diagnosis on its own. Clinicians may order it when someone reports recurring sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, nasal congestion, or wheezing that follows a seasonal pattern, or when a broader tree pollen panel is being evaluated.

• Red cedar pollen-specific IgE Antibodies formed against red cedar pollen proteins; an elevated level can reflect sensitization to this tree.

• Seasonal sneezing, runny nose, or nasal congestion that recurs during tree pollen periods
